Torah! Torah! Torah!

Torah Bright wins her 2nd X Games Superpipe Gold on Friday, January 23, 2009 in Aspen, Colorado.  The competition wasn't easy with Kelly Clark, Gretchen Bleiler, Hannah Teter and up and coming young star, Ellery Hollingsworth, all fighting for the gold.  But it was Torah who pulled away for the win.  All the girls went big as they showed off combinations that just seem so sick, but it was amazing just to see these girls get in there and pull backside 360's, switch backside 720, air to fakies and mctwists.  With big tricks comes big falls as both Gretchen Bleiler and Kelly Clark had their share of crashes that caused them their running for the gold medal.  But we're glad they were both alright. Congratulations to all the girls!

RESULTS

1. Torah Bright
2. Kelly Clark
3. Hannah Teeter
4. Ellery Hollingsworth
5. Kaitlyn Farrington
6. Gretchen Bleiler

By no means are these the only women's only camps out there so look around, do some research and find one that you're most interested in, meet other women riders and have fun!

Boys want to be Girls

Posted by Gurl Ryder 0 comments
This just goes to show.....the boys are just jealous of us girls! According to Swatch TTR conspiracy theory, the real reason the Roxy Chicken Jam was cancelled wasn't due to high winds, it was because the the trophies were snagged by some of snowboarding's powerful men, including the event organizer. As funny as this is, I wouldn't be surprised if it was true! I bet they haven't seen the podcast where Torah Bright was kicking some butt!

Want to be on TV?

Girl Powder along with L.A. reality show producer are looking for girls between the ages of 16-25 who are hard core snowboarders or skiers wanting to go Pro.  These girls will be living in a house in the mountains and filmed as they train, ride and build a snowboarding brand.

If you're interested, you can email them or send a video on a CD and tell them what you like and dislike about snowboarding/skiing, why you should be picked and what makes you stand out from the rest...you know, the usual stuff.  Don't forget to include your name, email, address, age, and phone number.
