Another Girl Joins the Billabong Team

Billabong welcomes French rider, Ann-Flore Marxer , to the Billabong girls team! Ann-Flore joins top ranked riders Jamie Anderson, Jenny Jones and Claudia Fliri in representing the Billabong brand. Watch for her in upcoming films as she focuses on her back-country skills.

She is also on the cover of the October/November 2008 issue of Cooler Magazine so go and grab one!

An EvoTrip You Don't Want To Miss

Documentary of Tara Dakides

During the opening weekend at Mammth Mountain, there will be a special screening of the documentary film about Tara Dakides, one of the most decorated female riders out there. This is not a snowboarding film, Against the Grain is a story of Tara and her life through the good and the bad.  So if you're up in Mammoth for opening weekend, I would definitely go and see it!

Checking in with Tokio Hotel

In my previous post about a new goup I recently discovered, Tokio Hotel, I had the pleasure of seeing them in person...very briefly just the pther day. As I stood in line for a few hours just for their autgraphs and the opportunity to snap some pictures, I found myself in the middle of teen-infested groupies in their emo attires, screaming and giggly about meeting the band.  Some with tears in their eyes after meeting them, some sang their songs, but mostly I realized I wasn't the only adult there who actually enjoyed the long wait, the screaming teens, and the 10 seconds of seeing one of the best bands that's ever come from Germany. And the fact that they're so handsome doesn't hurt either! ;-)

Artist on the Rise - Brand Milne

I've been seeing this artist pop up more and more recently, especially through the snowboarding industry. Her art has been on snowboards with 5150 , t-shirts with Hurley  , she's a featured artist with 686  and I have to admit, her creativity is amazing! Brandi Milne is undoubtedly one of the most talented artist out there and I predict that you will see many more of her work in upcoming brands and products.

Mammoth Snow

I'm so jealous! Mammoth Mountain got their first snowfall of the season in October! Aahhhh......Mammoth Mountain....can't wait for my yearly trip up there. Unfortunately, for us Southern Californians, we still haven't received any snow yet as we are still battling the darn 90 degree heat! It's October, c'mon give us a break already! Bring on the snow!

Roxy's Photo Shoot Part 2

Here's part 2 of the Roxy girl's photo shoot in Turkey where they tried ride in deep, deep,deep.......deep fresh powder and flat slopes! But of course, being the pros that they are, they made use of their surrounding to create fun jumps and jibs.  Oh! I also find it kind of odd that Margot Rozies claims she's afraid of heights.....but she's a pro snowboarder...how ironic is that? LOL Riding the lifts must be horrific for her!

It's a Pink October

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month so go out there and show how PINK you are by promoting this awareness, go and support organizations, go to a fund raiser, wear your pink ribbons, make a donation to non-profit organizations to help breast cancer research! There's so much you can do! I know even our local mountain, Mt. High, offers a "pink ticket" lift pass that you can purchase for an additional $1.00 which will be matched by Mt High and donated to Revlon's Run/Walk marathon. 


In 2004, 186,772 of women were diagnois with breast cancer, and 40,954 of women died of this disease. Those numbers are very scary but real! It's hard for people to be concerned with this disease because our lives are so busy with work, family, and our social lives and many women don't believe that they will ever be diagnosi with cancer, let alone breast cancer. But cancer can affect all of us and with no cure-all for this deathly disease, we all have to do our part to prevent and detect as early as possible. So not only should you support and promote breast cancer, you should make an effort to get checked out as well. You could save your own life! 


There are many websites out there with loads and loads of information about breast cancer, including National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Boarding for Breast Cancer, and Mamafest, to name just a few.
